New Years Eve Nibbles

Stuck for an easy New Years Eve nibble. How about these easy peasy - Sausage rolls.


All you need is a packet of ready rolled puff pastry and 400g sausagemeat / a packet of your favourite sausages.

Unroll the pastry and cut it in half lengthways into 2 long rectangles. Place half of the sausagemeat on each rectangle and run it in a line down the the centre (if you are using whole sausages, just take the meat out of the skins and line them up end to end. Wrap each side of the pastry over the sausage meat, make sure the pastry overlaps so that it seals, then turn the whole thing over so that the seal is on the bottom. Cut into individual rolls. At this point you can either freeze them for later or brush them with a beaten egg and bake in the oven at 180*c for around 20 minutes until piping hot and cooked through. Serve with chilli jam or a tasty chutney.
