Hi, I'm Chloe

I am your tutor for your course.  I am here to help you make the most of the skills section of your DofE award. I am here to help you plan your course, answer questions, give feedback, suggest recipes and generally support.  I will also act as your accessor and submit your report for you provided you have sent me evidence on your cooking. I love to talk about food and teach people to cook so please never hesitate to get in touch with your questions or drop into one of our weekly live drop ins to say hi.

What You Need To Do Now

1. Choose What To Cook

The great thing about our Ultimate Skills Course is that you have so many different recipes to choose from, which means that you can create a totally bespoke course that works for you.

If you are new to cooking, our level 1 and 2 Skills Courses offer a great mix of savoury and baking skills or, if you would prefer to stick to just savoury/baking, you can follow our savoury and baking courses.

For more advanced students or returning students feel free to start at a higher level (you might like to start at Level 2 for example) or you may prefer to pick and choose recipes from the different courses or our searchable recipe bank to make your own bespoke course.

We are here to help you build the ideal course for you so please do ask for help or advice - just email Chloe at [email protected]

Each course is split into weekly skills. Have a look at the skills tutorials, then put that skill into practice with one of the recipes.  You can find a full list of available recipes via the link at the bottom of this page or in the "Information for DofE Students" section fo your course.

New recipes are going live on the system all of the time but if you would like to cook a recipe you have seen on the list but you can't find on the system please let us know and we will get it filmed and up on the system asap.

2. Log Your Progress

This is really important.  As an Approved Activity Provider we are able to submit an assessor's report on your behalf. However, we can only submit an assessor's report if you have provided us with photographic evidence that you have cooked the recipes and completed the course.  Logging your recipes is really easy.  You can download a recipe log form from the link at the bottom of this page or from the "Information for DofE Students" section of your course.  Every time you cook please can you:

- take a quick photo of the dish as it is being cooked; and

- take a photo of the finished dish.

For safeguarding reasons we ask that you just take photos of the food rather than photos with people in them.

Email your photos to [email protected] and we will log them, answer any questions and send you some feedback.  When you email please include in the title of your email:  Your name, the week that you are on and the dish that you have cooked.  For example:  Chloe Coker - Wk 1 - Quesadillas.

Get someone to taste what you have cooked and give you some feedback (it can be anyone). Then fill in the recipe log form. We ask you to send a photo of the completed recipe log form in at the end of the course.

Recipe Lists & Forms To Print

Remember To Print This Recipe Log And Fill In The Form

We cannot submit your assessor's report unless we have evidence of the recipes that you have cooked so make sure you remember to log your progress by sending us a photo and filling in this form each time you cook

Keep In Touch

We ask that our students check in with us every few weeks so that we can keep track of your progress, answer any questions and give feedback. You can do this by email to [email protected].
